As a teacher and student, Rachel honors the teachings and history of this practice and creates a safe, loving space for people to show up as they are: whole, perfect and complete. When Rachel began her asana practice over a decade ago, she simply viewed the practice as a way to move her body, but the more she stepped on her mat, the more connected she felt with herself and with this deeply rooted tradition. Rachel completed her 200hr YTT in 2016 through Hari-Om Yoga School in Costa Rica & 300 hr YTT through Courageous Yoga Space in Denver, CO and deliver these practices she's learned from those who've taught before her in a way that is joyous, unique and with a loving heart. It is an honor to be a yoga teacher, and Rachel believes in the roots of this practice knowing that it allows us to cultivate a higher sense of self and connection on and off the mat.
Born and raised in Rocky Hill, Rae developed a love for dance at a young age, eventually transitioning into yoga as she grew older. As a personal trainer, she knew the importance of stretching and leaned toward yoga to help her stay accountable. As she continued to do yoga, Rae landed upon the 8-limb path and realized that the art of yoga is much more than the physical body. We live in a world where we get so caught up in auto-pilot mode, that yoga allows us to simply be, to just breathe, and reconnect to our true roots and higher selves. She has found much mental and spiritual clarity through practicing yoga, eventually leading her to get a 200-hour yoga teacher training in the mountains of Guatemala. Movement, flow, and freedom of expression shape Rae’s life. When she is not on the mat, she is found playing guitar, singing, writing, dancing, going on hikes, connecting with nature, or traveling the world. She also enjoys cooking plant-based meals and exploring holistic nutrition and wellness.
